Frequently Asked Questions
  • What are the 2025 summer season dates?

    • Opening night is Wednesday, June 18, 2025 with 46 performances on various days through Saturday, August 9, 2025. For a full list of performance days/times see: here

  • What are ticket prices (not including fees)?

    • Adult $30

    • Kids 12 and under $15

  • Where/How can I purchase tickets?

    • Purchasing in advance online, fees are cheaper. Tickets can also be purchased at Clem's Canteen and Creamery (located in the theatre lobby) and at Cody Chamber. Any remaining tickets will also be available at the door.

    • ALL tickets are directly sold through our 3rd party ticketing company; tix.com. We DO NOT have tickets through stub hub, ticketmaster, etc.

  • What are your fees?

    • We have no hidden fees and keep our fees minimal with only a service fee and a processing fee. These fees help to cover some of our costs that are passed on to us from the ticketing company,  card processing companies, and secure payment platforms.

      • For online and phone orders we have a minimal $1.5 service fee per ticket and $1.00 processing fee per order.

      • For box office/Clem's Canteen & Creamery, at the door, and Chamber sales are $4.00 service fee per ticket and $1.00 processing fee.

  • Someone in my group doesn't enjoy musicals, will they like the show?

    • While we can't speak for everyone, we have been told by many, who "don't like musicals" that they loved the show. The humor and history, well known tunes, and production quality alone grabs the attention of locals and tourists of all ages and walks of life.

  • What language is spoken in the show?

    • All performances are in English but being a musical, the story is told not just through dialog but singing, dancing, and acting. We've had many attend, who do not speak English well, and they have enjoyed the performance.

  • Is the show family friendly?

    • YES! We are family friendly, and we welcome any child who can remain seated in a quiet manner through a two-hour performance. We recommend that children be at least 3-years-old to attend.

  • Why are July 3 & 4 shows at a different time?

    • EVERY July 1-4 our town celebrates Independence Day with 4 days of special events and parades. Our 2:00 performances are after Cody's morning parades and before the Stampede Rodeo.

  • Does The Cody Theatre have A/C?

    • Yes, The Cody Theatre is a historic building and is still being cooled all summer long by the original swamp cooler BUT it is one setting; on or off, so you may want to bring a jacket.

  • Why is your season so short?

    • Our cast members audition from across the country and come here to live during our summer season. Many of them are theater or dance students from performance schools and colleges so they can not arrive here till school gets out and then have to go back to school in August. Others are professionals with contracts for other productions.

  • Do you refund tickets?

    • No, all tickets are nonrefundable BUT we realize in traveling and life, things happen. IF you are not able to attend the date of your purchased performance, we may be able to transfer your tickets to another upcoming performance in the season, if seats are available. You must call in advance.  Once tickets are scanned, they cannot be transferred.

    • IF for whatever reason you will not be able to attend any performance in the season, we can transfer your tickets to a monetary donation for our 501c3 nonprofit, Rocky Mountain Dance Theatre who produces our show every summer.

  • Are all seats reserved?

    • Yes, All seats are reserved. We suggest purchasing in advance to get your preferred seats and date.

  • Where are the best seats in the house?

    • There really is not a bad seat in the theatre. Unless someone very tall has seats in front of you or someone decides to wear their cowboy hat during the show, you should be able to see what is happening throughout the performance.

    • Choosing seats is a personal preference for attending a live musical. If you like to see facial expressions and performers up close, front rows are fun. If you like to see the whole stage at one time, you'd want to sit further back. The wings are NOT bad seats at all as you can see everything just from a slight angle.

    • The platform (stage) is about 4 feet high with the front center row about 10 feet from the stage. All seats are at a slight incline from front to back.

    • Please note: we do NOT have a seat 13 anywhere in the theatre.

  • I have read/heard that you are an engaging and interactive show, what does that mean?

    • Audience members are NOT called to come on stage nor are they asked to participate during our live show in any way. We do occasionally "break the 4th wall" where a cast member breaks character to address the audience as a whole. There are also times when the audience is invited to clap with the beat of the music.

  • What is meant by a dinner and a show?

    • Clem's Canteen and Creamery is located in the Cody Theatre lobby and offers several different meal options that can be enjoyed before or during the performance. Those purchasing tickets ONLINE BEFORE the day of a performance will be prompted with the option to add a meal(s) with their ticket. The same meals can also be purchased when you arrive, just at a slightly higher cost.

    • What is the perk of purchasing my meal in advance?

      • We want your time with us to be seamless and easy. No need to make reservations or figure out timing or place to have a meal around attending the show. You will save time, won't need to wait in a food line, and a little money. Those who purchase food options online with their tickets also have the choice of having their food before/at the beginning of the show or during intermission.

  • Can we eat during the performance?

    • Yes, food and drinks from Clem's Canteen and Creamery are allowed INSIDE the theatre to enjoy during live performances.

      • The food options are handhelds and can be eaten easily in theatre seats. We also have serving trays available. All seats (with the exception of row A) have cup holders.

    • Depending on when you arrive to the theatre, you can also eat in the theatre lobby or at the small table outside the theatre front doors right on main street.

  • Do you serve alcohol?

    • Yes, Clem's Canteen & Creamery now serves select beers, wine, and even champagne to anyone 21 years and older.

  • Can we bring outside food in?

    • With Clem's Canteen & Creamery open in our lobby, we ask that you do not bring outside food or drinks. As we do not serve any coffee, outside coffee (and water) is allowed.

  • When do doors open?

    • Doors to take your seats open around 30 minutes prior to the performance start time. The historic Cody Theatre does NOT have a large lobby and it is not uncommon for lines to form outside the theatre building for those waiting for their tickets to be scanned. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

  • Do you take large groups?

    • YES! Groups of all sizes are welcome as long as we have seats available. Group discounts are also available for groups with 8 or more attending the same show and purchasing in the same order; must call in advance to place order.

  • Do you sell tickets at the door?

    • Yes, if any seats remain, tickets are available at the door BUT the fees will be more expensive. We do encourage you to purchase tickets in advance online. Remaining tickets are available online till 10 minutes after start time for all performances.

  • Do you have a box office?

    • Yes-ish, Clem's Canteen and Creamery works as our box office and workers can sell tickets to anyone whenever they are open. Generally during the summer from 11 am - 7 pm nonperformance days and 11 am- 9 pm on performance days.

  • Do you have will call?

    • No, we do not offer any type of will call or ticket pick up. With the ease of technology, tickets purchased will be emailed with your confirmation and can be printed out or added to smart phone wallets. You can also call 307-527-9973 to purchase tickets over the phone and this way they can be texted directly to your smart phone. The Cody Chamber and Clem's Canteen & Creamery can sell tickets directly to you and in the purchase process print out if you do not have access to a smart phone or email.

  • What if I can't print off my tickets?

    • You do NOT need to have etickets printed but can simply show your eticket on your smart phone. Etickets can also be added to your smart phone wallet (must add each one). All we need to do is be able to scan the code associated with each ticket purchased.

  • What is the running time of the performance?

    • Running time is approximately 2 hours and 10 minutes with a 15 minute intermission

  • What is a sarsaparilla?

    • Sarsaparilla is a non-alcoholic drink similar to root beer. We sell this during intermission at our bar on stage. Anyone in the audience can come up on stage to purchase and to interact with the cast in character.

  • Is there parking for a RV or Camper?

    • The city has several free parking lots available within walking distance of The Cody Theatre as well as neighborhood side streets that provide parallel parking for large vehicles/RV's. Just mind people's driveways and fire hydrants.

  • Is there handicap parking?

    • As The Cody Theatre is located on a busy main street, closest handicap parking is limited and on the side streets.

  • Is the facility ADA?

    • Being in a historic theatre right downtown, we sadly are not the best in accessibility. There are no stairs, so wheelchairs/walkers are able to get in and out of the building and the theatre area. There is a section in the back of the theatre designated for wheelchairs and seats for companions. The right side has a wheelchair "platform" with no grade; the left side space for wheelchairs has no platform and is angled/graded with the floor. Wheelchairs can fit in the aisles next to the seats allowing people to still pass by without any problems (although aisles are also at a slight slope). The bathrooms are very tight and not ideal. In short, as a historic building, The Cody Theatre has done it's best to adapt to the needs of others.

  • Where are you located?

    • All Wild West Spectacular the Musical performances are at the Historic Cody Theatre right downtown in Cody, Wyoming on main street; 1171 Sheridan Ave. The Cody Theatre is across the street from the historic Irma Hotel and just down the street from the City Park.
